Obituary of Anna Mae Cronkhite
HERKIMER- Anna Mae Cronkhite, 89 formerly of 104 North Washington Street, Claxton Manor, Herkimer passed away at the Folts Home, Herkimer where she has been a resident.
She was born on March 5, 1923 in Palatine Bridge, NY the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mildred (Kahn) Nellis. She was a graduate of the Canajoharie High School Class of 1939.
Anna Mae was united in marriage to her husband of 31 years George S. Cronkhite on August 19, 1944. Mr. Cronkhite predeceased her on September 19, 1975.
Mrs. Cronkhite is of the Universalist Faith and a 4-H and of the Minden Home Bureau leader for many years.
George and Anna Mae were the managers of the Mohawk and Minden Co-Operative. After the passing of Mr. Cronkhite in 1975 Anna Mae continued to run the Co-op until her retirement in 1987, working for a total of 25 years.
She is survived by her 2 sons James Cronkhite and his wife Lorraine, Cooperstown, Dennis Cronkhite and his wife Maureen, Fort Plain, a daughter Patricia Hurley and her husband Christopher, Skaneateles, a brother Benjamin Nellis, Jr. and his wife Marilyn, Palatine Bridge, 5 grandchildren Bryan Cronkhite, Jennifer Raux and her husband Randy, Karen Cronkhite, Chris and James Hurley. She is predeceased by a sister Ethel Barshied.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with Rev. Nancy Ryan officiating. Interment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery, Fords bush in the Spring.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on February 23, 2013 from 10-11 am and to attend the funeral services that follow.
