Barbara B. Foster
DOLGEVILLE - Barbara B. Foster, 73 of 16 Millers Grove Road, Dolgeville passed away Sunday, December 28, 2003 at her residence with her family at her side.
She was born on April 19, 1930 in Dolgeville the daughter of the late Wilson and Murial (Darling) Barnes. She was educated in Dolgeville schools.
She was married at onetime to George E. Foster, Jr.
She was a member of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church
Mrs. Foster always enjoyed spending time with her family as well as being an avid Bingo player and a life member of the Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club.
Mrs. Foster was employed at onetime as a welder for the former H.P. Snyder Mfg. Co., Little Falls as well as a machine operator for the Daniel Green Co., Dolgeville and later in the housekeeping department of the Glen Ridge Motel, Herkimer. She was later employed as a stitcher for the Rawlings Adirondack Co., Dolgeville and served as a bartender for many years in various restaurants in the area. She was last employed back at the Daniel Green Co., Dolgeville as a Inspector retiring due to ill health in 1993.
She is survived by 4 sons Larry F. Hall and his wife Barbara, Dolgeville, George Foster and his wife Margaret, Salisbury, Gregory Foster, Sr., Salisbury and Geoffrey Foster and his wife Terry, Stratford, her daughter Kim Barnes and her husband Randy, Dolgeville with whom she resided and who took care of her for the past 17 years, 18 grandchildren Eric Hall, Melissa Hall Loomis, Benjamin Hall, Renee Coonradt and her husband David, Michelle Armstrong and her husband Brad, Kerry Foster and his wife Stacey, Kasey Foster, Jennifer Fox and her husband Harry, Jimmy Foster and his wife Laura, Jacob Foster, Nathaniel Foster, Nicholas Foster, Jacque Foster, Gary Foster, Amanda Wilson and her husband Wayne, Kayla Barnes and her companion Joshua Comstock, Kyle Barnes and Ronald Miles, 14 great grandchildren, a special daughters in law Darlene Foster and her companion Dan Sullivan, Dolgeville and Diane Foster, Stratford, her life long friend Joan Peets, Oppenheim and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Gary W. Foster, who died on May 21, 1983, a brother David Barnes, who died on May 13, 1996 and 2 grandchildren Sherry Hall, who died in 1993 and Gregory Foster, Jr., who died on April 28, 1994.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Foster be considered to the Gregory A. Foster, Jr. Scholarship Fund, c/o Dolgeville High School, Slawson Street, Dolgeville, NY 13329. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Dougie Haas and his staff for their kindness and compassion shown to Mrs. Foster.
