Obituary of Charles M. Case, Sr
Town of German Flatts- Charles M. Case, Sr., 66 of 314 State Route 5S, Mohawk, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at his residence.
He was born on January, 30, 1946 in Sodus, New York the son of the late Kenneth and Margaret E. (Bohling) Case. He attended schools in Rose, New York.
Mr. Case was a veteran of the US Army, entering the service in 1966. He took basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. After 8 weeks he went to Fort Sill, Oklahoma and trained in all types of artillery guns and other weapons. It was the 1st of 83rd artillery he belonged to. Later he was sent to Vietnam where he spent 1 year 1 month and 5 days. After his tour he was honorably discharged at the rank of P.F.C. on November 19, 1967.
Mr. Case was proud of his time spent in Rose Valley, New York as a Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorer Scouts and later became assist scout master. As he grew up he enjoyed Trapping, hunting and most of all fishing.
He worked at many jobs through his life time. His most enjoyable job was being a self employed scrap collector and selling lawn equipment. He really enjoyed meeting all the different kinds of people he came across.
He is survived by his sons Charles M. Case, Jr. and is companion Rebecca Eagles, Mohawk, Carl M. Case, Sr. and his wife Darlene, Mohawk, Christopher M. Case, with whom he resided, daughter Pamela Ann Case, Rome, a sister Joan Roax, Westmoreland and 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters Margaret Reynolds, Virgina C. Avery and a brother Kenneth E. Case (Butch).
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 1-3 pm.
Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer in the spring.
