LITTLE FALLS - Richard J. Daniel, 86 formerly of 47 Top Notch Drive, Little Falls and more recent of Folts-Claxton Manor, Herkimer passed away Friday, December 12, 2003 at Little Falls Hospital
He was born on January 17, 1917 in Little Falls the son of the late Philip and Emma (Schmidt) Daniel. He attended Little Falls High School.
He was united in marriage to his wife of 65 years the former Victoria M. Rachon on July 3, 1938 at Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls with the Rev. JFK Riebisell officiating.
Mr. Daniel was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Navy. Entering the service on March 23, 1943 serving in England, Scotland and France He was honorably discharged as a Boatswains Mate Second class on November 14, 1945 at Lido Beach, LI, NY.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls serving on the church council for many years.
Mr. Daniel was employed for over 25 years in the assembly dept. of the former Chicago Pneumatic Corp., Utica, retiring in April 1982.
He is survived by his wife Victoria, his son Richard R. Daniel and his wife Linda, Highland, NY, his brother Robert Daniels, Little Falls, his granddaughter Kristeen (Daniel) Holtz and her husband William Westwood, MA, his 2 great granddaughters Emma and Ruby Holtz and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Elsie Fels McGaffick, who died on February 9, 1998.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 10:00 am from the Christ Lutheran Church, 14 Petrie Street, Little Falls with Pastor James Paulson officiating. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls in the spring.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Monday, December 15, 2003 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Tuesday morning.
