Obituary of Joanne M. Delnero

Joanne M. Delnero FORT PLAIN - Joanne M. Delnero, 63 of 538 Phillip Road, Ft. Plain, Town of Danube, New York passed away Monday, June 23, 2003 at her residence. She was born on July 4, 1939 in Brattleboro, VT the daughter of June Kenyon Gerrish and the late Floyd E. Gerrish. She was a graduate of Woodbury Connecticut High School as well as a graduate from the Bay State Nursing School. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Delnero on June 4, 1960 in Woodbury, Conn.. Mr. Delnero predeceased her on April 14, 1999. She resided for from 1961 - 1977 in Agawam, MA and from 1977 until relocating to the Town of Danube in 2002 she resided in Southampton, MA. Mrs. Delnero was employed at onetime as a registered nurse at the Bay State Medical Center, Springfield, MA. In 1963 she and her husband began the Delnero Furniture Co., in Agawam, MA. She remained active in the business even in its present location in the town of Danube operated by her sons Michael and John Delnero until her recent illness. She is survived by Michael J. Delnero and his wife Mary, Ft. Plain, John R. Delnero and his wife Laurel, Ft. Plain and James P. Delnero, Northampton, MA., 6 grandchildren Rebecca, Benjamin, Robert, Jennifer, Emily and Sarah Delnero. She was predeceased by her twin brother Jerome F. Gerrish, who died in 1991. Graveside services will be held at the Ostrander Cemetery, Fiery Hill Rd., Town of Danube on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at 10:00 am. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
