Obituary of Elizabeth E. Van Court

LITTLE FALLS Elizabeth E. Van Court, 83 of 230 Bidleman Road, Little Falls passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at her residence. She was born on April 6, 1925 in Richfield Springs the daughter of the late Frank S. and Esther (Eaker) Mang. She was educated in Richfield Springs Schools. She was united in marriage to her husband of 34 years Jasper Van Court on October 10, 1942 in Richfield Springs. Mr. Van Court predeceased her on June 6, 1976. She enjoyed gardening and canning, as well as cooking for her family and was well known for her homemade doughnuts. In her earlier years she also enjoyed hunting. Mrs. Van Court was employed in the woodworking department for the Remington Arms Co., Ilion, retiring in 1982. She is survived by her son Jesse F. Van Court and his wife Linda, Jordanville, 2 daughters Beverly Holdridge and her husband Daniel, Little Falls with whom she resided and Elizabeth Phillips and her husband Gary, Richfield Springs, a brother Robert Van Court and his wife Jean, Springfield, NY, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers William, Charles and Harold Mang and by a sister Eleanor Dziadik. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with Rev. Rebecca Laird, Pastor of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Dolgeville Cemetery, Dolgeville. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Sunday, October 5, 2008 from 11 am 2 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Van Court be considered to Hospice Care Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
