Obituary of Gertrude E. Rice

Gertrude E. Rice FORT PLAIN - Gertrude E. Rice, 76 of 646 Fords Bush Road, Fort Plain passed away Sunday, December 21, 2003 at Little Falls Hospital where she had been a patient since December 16, 2003. She was born on January 21, 1927 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Arthur and Edna (Arnold) Walker. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School. She was united in marriage to her husband of 54 years Carleton L. (Bud) Rice on September 10, 1949 at St. Mary's Church Parish House, Little Falls. Mrs. Rice was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Fort Plain. She is survived by her husband Carleton (Bud), her son Thomas G. Rice and his wife Judy, Gloversville, her daughter Linda Rice, Ft. Plain, 2 sister Frances Nasypany and her husband Paul, E. Herkimer and Janet Burns and her husband Thomas, Little Falls, 2 granddaughters Kimberly M. Rice, Marlboro, MA and Kelly L. Rice, Plattsburg and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 10:00 am from St. James Catholic Church, 115 Reid St. Ft. Plain where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Kenneth J. Swain. Interment will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery, Fort Plain in the spring. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Rice be considered to the St. James Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 287, Ft. Plain, NY 13339. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
