DOLGEVILLE - Ruth K. Helterline, 81 of 2671 State Route 29, Dolgeville passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home, St. Johnsville where she been a resident since April 10, 2003.
She was born on May 24, 1921 in Westmont, NJ the daughter of the late Edwin and Mabel (Mullin) Kiner. She was a graduate of Mt. Holly, New Jersey High School.
She was united in marriage to Russell J. Helterline on May 15, 1948 in Mt. Holly, NJ. Mr. Helterline predeceased her on June 10, 2002.
She was a member of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Mt. Holly, as well as a member of the Mt. Holly Order of the Eastern Star and the Trinity Episcopal Church Ladies Auxiliary, Fairfield
Mrs. Helterline was a member of the Little Falls Hospital Board of Directors beginning in 1972, she served as board president from 1987 - 1991 and was made an honorary member in 1994.
She was employed as the bookkeeper for the former Helterline Lumber Co., Stratford.
She is survived by her daughters Linda M. Helterline, Stratford and Jane H. Malin, Salisbury Center, 2 brothers in law Earl Helterline, Little Falls and Gay Foster, Dolgeville, a niece Gail Bromley, Prescott, AZ, a nephew Mark Foster, Charlotte, NC, and 2 cousins Ann Miller Smith, Marquette, MI and Nancy Heinmiller, Atlanta, GA. She was predeceased by her step brother Ralph Richmond.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2003 at 10:00 am from the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Albany Street, Little Falls with Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, Rector officiating. Interment will take place in Dibble - Tuttle Cemetery, Town of Salisbury.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Friday, April 25, 2003 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Saturday morning.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Helterline be considered to the Little Falls Hospital, 140 Burwell Street, Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Albany Medical Center, the Sunnyview Rehabilitation Center and Hospital, Schenectady and the St. Johnsville Nursing Home for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Mrs. Helterline.
