Obituary of Howard E. Richards, Sr

LITTLE FALLS Howard E. Richards, Sr., 81 of 1407 Snells Bush Road, Little Falls passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Little Falls Hospital. He was born on February 26, 1927 in St. Johnsville the son of the late Harold and Hazel (Trumbull) Richards. He was educated in St. Johnsville schools. He was united in marriage to his wife of 64 years the former Veronica Lynch on August 29, 1944 in Middleville. Mr. Richards was the owner and operator of Richards Dairy Farm on the Snells Bush Road in the Town of Manheim. Retiring in 1995 after 51 years. But continued to help his sons in their farming operations on a daily basis. He is survived by his wife Veronica, 6 sons Howard E. Richards, Jr. and his wife Gloria, Inghams Mills, Donald Richards, Little Falls, Gary Richards, Little Falls, Lynn Richards and his wife Nancy, Dolgeville, Arthur Richards, Little Falls, Kevin Richards and his wife Lucinda, Little Falls, a brother Harris Richards, St. Johnsville, a sister Ruth Smith, St. Johnsville, a sister-in-law Beulah Saltsman, Little Falls, 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a infant daughter Darlene Faye Richards in 1965, 2 brothers Harold and Eugene Richards, a sister Alice Crowell, a infant granddaughter Eliza Faye Richards in 1993 and a daughter-in-law Marilyn Richards in 2001. Graveside service will be held at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills at a time to be announced in the spring. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. In keeping with his wishes there are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Richards be considered to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
