Obituary of Maggie S. Timmerman
LITTLE FALLS - Maggie S. Timmerman, 91 of 1178 Davis Road, Little Falls passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born on March 1, 1915 in Hyde, Stockport, England. She came to this country and to the Little Falls area in 1923 aboard the SS Baltic. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1933.
She was united in marriage to her husband of 42 years Harold B. Timmerman on July 4, 1942 at the First Presbyterian Church, Little Falls. Mr. Timmerman predeceased her on November 2, 1984.
She was an over 70 year member of the First Presbyterian Church, Little Falls where she also taught Sunday school for many years. She was a over 50 year member of the Auskerada, Maquaes, Rock City Chapter # 204 OES, Dolgeville. A charter member of the Mohawk Valley Antique Dealers Assn., a member of the Herkimer County Humane Society and was a former 4-H leader.
Mrs. Timmerman enjoyed antiques, especially her collection of post cards. For the last 20 years she enjoyed being an artist, painting many landscapes and various historic sites around the area. She also was known for her hand painted Christmas cards which she sent to her many friends and relatives.
At onetime she was employed by the former Cherry - Burrell Corp, Little Falls as well as the former Little Falls Felt Shoe, Co. Most of her time was spent as the co owner and operated along with her husband and later her son of the Harold B. Timmerman Dairy Farm on the Davis Rd, Town of Manheim.
She is survived by her son William H. Timmerman, Little Falls, 2 daughters Sarah Israel and her husband Fred, Somerset, NJ and Nancy Cioch and her husband Terence, E. Herkimer, 8 grandchildren,10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson Peter M. Rowe, who died on September 8, 1990.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 1:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with Pastor Gertrude Ortlieb of the Snells Bush Church officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday, January 27, 2007 from 12-1 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
