Obituary of Mildred R. Thorne
Little Falls- Mildred R. Thorne, 88 of 558 East Gansvoort Street, Little Falls passed away Friday, November 17, 2006 at Valley Health Services, Inc., Herkimer where she has been a resident for the past few months.
She was born on April 11, 1918 in Colton, NY the daughter of the late Howard and Dora (Kerr) Russell. She was educated in the Colton Schools.
She was united in marriage to Rev. Frederick Thorne on February 4, 1961 at the First Baptist Church, Little Falls, with the Rev. Francis Phillips officiating. The couple shared a blessed union of marriage for 35 years until Rev. Thorne passed away on August 5, 1996.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Little Falls.
Mrs. Thorne was employed for several years as a Nurses Aid at the Folts Home in Herkimer. She also spent several years employed as a household assistant to the family of Dr. Milton Soroka of Herkimer
Mrs. Thorne is survived by 2 daughters Carol Lotspeich and her husband Patrick, Chicago, IL., Phyllis Brown and her husband Patrick, Little Falls and a son Paul and his wife Jackie Thorne, Chittenango, NY, 7 grandchildren Cristina Lotspeich, Aaron and Paul Brown, Jessica Lasswell, Gregory, Stephen and Melissa Thorne and 2 great grandchildren Tristyn and Chesney Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2006 at 11:00 am from the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Donald L. Dixon officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 North Ann Street, Little Falls on Sunday, November 19, 2006 from 2-5 pm and to attend the funeral services Monday morning.
