Arthur D. Mosher
DOLGEVILLE - Arthur D. Mosher, 75 of 89 Van Buren Street, Dolgeville passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at Bassett Healthcare Center, Cooperstown.
He was born on September 21, 1929 in the Town of Fairfield the son of the late Clark and Florence (Phelps) Mosher. He was educated in Salisbury Rural schools and Dolgeville High School.
He was united in marriage to the former Helen Lee on April 2, 1961 at the First Presbyterian Church, Dolgeville.
Mr. Mosher was a veteran of the US Army serving our country on two occasions first entering the service on September 13, 1948 where he took part in the occupation of Germany. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal on September 12, 1951. Then on September 4, 1956 Mr. Mosher re enlisted in the US Army where he served until he was again honorably discharged on August 31, 1959.
He was a member of the American Legion Post # 31, Little Falls. He was an avid reader and music listener, who enjoyed being outdoors and traveling and was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan.
He was employed for many years as the manager of the Indian Castle Service Area of the NYS Thruway and later was employed as a Foreman for the Liberty Leather Co,., Gloversville.
He is survived by his wife Helen, a son Kurt A. Mosher and his wife Jeanine, Richmond, KY and a daughter Lisa A. Mang and her husband Bruce, Richfield Springs, a brother Alvin (Rick) Hart and his wife Carol, Mt. Erie, NC, a sister Laura Claus a resident of the Van Allen Nursing Home, Little Falls, an aunt Anna Phelps, Sauquoit, 2 sisters in law Doreen Mosher, Ilion and Virginia Lee, Little Falls, 6 grandchildren Bruce Mang, II, Corey Mang, Nicole Mang, Hannah Mang, Ryan Mosher and Kimberly Mosher, a special niece Phyllis Fox and her friend Frank Novak, Little Falls and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He his also survived by his German Shepard Tia and his cat Tosh. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Clark F. Mosher and Leslie L. Mosher.
Funeral services will be held at the Convenience of the Family. Final interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
