Obituary of Ruth C. Parkhurst
ILION - Ruth C. Parkhurst, 89 of 8 Beech Street, Ilion passed away Sunday, July 17, 2005 at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, Ilion where she had been a resident since February 2005.
She was born on December 10, 1915 in Fort Plain the daughter of the late Harry and Ida (Dell) Wetterau. She was educated in Fords Bush Rural schools.
She was united in marriage to James L. Parkhurst, Sr. on May 11, 1935 in Fort Plain. Mr. Parkhurst predeceased her on October 4, 1985.
Mrs. Parkhurst was employed for over 30 years by the former Little Falls Color Print Co., Little Falls.
She is survived by 3 sons Harold Parkhurst, Herkimer, Kenneth Parkhurst and his wife Jean "Ruth's Best friend for many years" of Mohawk and James L. Parkhurst, Jr., Richfield Springs, 2 daughters Claudia Childs, Ilion and Sharon Mazzacua and her husband Brian, Mohawk, 17 grandchildren Charles Childs Jr., Claudia (Kit) Reider, Kenneth Parkhurst, Jr., Dr. Randy Parkhurst, MD, Kevin Parkhurst, Missy Parkhurst, Laura Hebert, Cindy Stallman, Lisa Douglass, Donald Stallman, Jr., Angela Gerharc, Matthew Mazzacua, Sara Mazzacua, James L. Parkhurst, III, Chris Parkhurst and Chad Parkhurst, 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her daughter in law and dear friend Barbara Parkhurst, Herkimer. She was predeceased by 2 sons Charles Parkhurst, who died in 1950 and Robert A. Parkhurst, who died on October 24, 1999, a sister Jane Erhardt, who died in 1996 and by a grandson Dean Parkhurst, who died in 1963.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2005 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with Pastor Edward Reed of the Dennison Corners Community Church, Officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Town of Minden.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Thursday morning.
