Charles O. Petrie
LITTLE FALLS - Charles O. Petrie, 77 formerly of State Route 169, Little Falls and more recent of 550 E. John Street, (Rockton Plaza) Little Falls passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at his residence.
He was born on February 25, 1929 in Little Falls the son of the late Charles E. and Emma (DuPont) Petrie. He was educated in Little Falls Schools.
He was united in marriage to his wife of 35 years the former Elizabeth A. (Betty) Cibulka on November 4, 1961 at St. Mary's Church, Little Falls. Mrs. Petrie predeceased him on July 20, 1996.
He was a member of the Holy Family Parish of Little Falls. As well as a member of the Teamsters Local # 182, Utica.
Mr. Petrie for many years was the owner and operator of the Petrie Dairy Farm on the Middleville Road in the Town of Little Falls. He later was the co -owner of Rock City Excavating, Little Falls until 1974. He was last employed as a milk hauler for the former Del-Wood Foods Corp., Herkimer retiring in 1991. Following his retirement he continued to help his son Charles in the operation of the family dairy farm.
He is survived by a son Charles G. Petrie and Heidi Schmidt, Little Falls, 3 daughters Deborah Guile and her husband David, Little Falls, Linda Tennant, Frankfort and Karen Morrison and her husband Donald, Syracuse, a sister Ruth Wheeler, Little Falls, 3 grandchildren Shawn and Ashley Tennant and Mallory Morrison, a brother in law Ronald Deming, Little Falls, a sister in law Sue Zalocka and her husband Stanley, Frankfort, several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors at Rockton Plaza. He was predeceased by a sister Nancy Deming, who died on February 25, 1998.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 4:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Daniel Lanza, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery in the spring.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Sunday, March 19, 2006 from 1-4 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
