Obituary of Dr.Richard W. Werfelmann

NORTH SYRACUSE -- Dr. Richard W. Werfelmann, 81, of North Syracuse, NY passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 at the James Square Health and Rehabilitation Center in Syracuse. He was born in the Syracuse area, the son of the late Dr.Walter and Lillian (Walliser) Werfelmann. He was a graduate of Manlius Military School, Syracuse University, Rutgers University, and McGill University. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U. S. Army Air Corp. Dr. Werfelmann was a well-known dentist in Syracuse for many years. He is survived by his wife Janet (Groff) Werfelmann; a daughter Ellen (Mark) Topor; three sons John (Caryn) Werfelmann, Richard Werfelmann, and Mark Werfelmann; a sister Betty (Charles) McPhail; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, NY, in the spring of 2009; at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Dr. Werfelmann be considered to the Crum Creek Lutheran Church, c/o Ms. Evelyn Thode, 43 Walnut St., Canajoharie, NY 13317. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
