Obituary of Roberta C. (Bobbi) Dineen
DOLGEVILLE - Roberta C. (Bobbi) Dineen, 48 of 1058 Barker Road, Dolgeville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 1, 2003.
She was born on September 9, 1955 in Oneida the daughter of Beatrice (Healey) Jones and the late Clifford H. Jones. She was a graduate of Vernon, Verona, Sherrill (VVS) High School class of 1973 and for the year 73 - 74 she was in Japan as a Rotary Exchange student. She was also a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa Suma Cum Laude. She received her Masters Degree in Special Education from SUNY, Geneseo and her Masters Degree in Music from Hartwick College.
She was united in marriage to Terry L. Dineen on April 10, 1993 at the Vernon United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Dineen was a very active member of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls and was a member of the church choir. She was also the director of the Valley Voices for Christ and the Power Company of Vernon.
She began her teaching career after her graduation from Iowa Wesleyan College, where she taught for a year in the Crawford, Iowa school district before returning to New York State. Since 1979 she has been the Music Teacher at the Barringer Road Elementary School, Ilion.
She is survived by her mother Beatrice Jones, Vernon, her husband Terry, Dolgeville, her son Jonathan J. Dineen, Dolgeville, a step son Stephen Dineen, her brother Henry C. Jones and his wife Lorraine, Webster, her sister Kathy J. Jones, Houston, TX and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Clifford H. Jones on July 30, 2003.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 10:00 am from the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Donald L. Dixon, Pastor officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Wednesday morning.
A time of fellowship will follow the graveside service at United Methodist Church, State Route 5, Vernon Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Dineen be considered to the Hand Bell Choir of the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany St., Little Falls, NY 13365 Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
