Obituary of Russell H. Baum, Jr

OPPENHEIM - Russell H. Baum, Jr., 69 of 333 County Highway 151, Dolgeville (Town of Oppenheim) passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 21, 2009 at his residence. He was born on May 1, 1939 in the Town of Danube the son of the late Russell H. and Hazel B. (Walrath) Baum, Sr. He was educated in Stone Arabia Rural and Fort Plain schools. Mr. Baum was employed for many years by the former H.P. Snyder Mfg. Co., Little Falls. He was later employed by the Cherry-Burrell Corp. and Feldmeier Equipment Co., Little Falls retiring in 2001 after 30 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. He is survived by his brother Clifford Baum and his wife Mary, Sharon Springs and 2 sisters Dorothy Johnson, Little Falls and Audrey Dillenbeck, Oppenheim and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Harry R. Baum in September of 2002 and by a sister Ethel May Baum in July of 2003. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, (Fords Bush) at a time and date to be announced in the spring. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Baum be considered to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
