Gary M. Tibbitts
LITTLE FALLS - Gary M. Tibbitts, 56 of 226 Rockwell Road, Little Falls went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 after being stricken at work.
He was born on August 27, 1946 in Ilion the son of Morton J. and Bettie J. (LeFever) Tibbitts of Little Falls. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1964. He was also a graduate of Cobleskill College, Class of 1966.
He was united in marriage to the former Sharon A. Lamphere on June 7, 1975 at the First Baptist Church, Little Falls with the Rev. George Hopper officiating.
Mr. Tibbitts was a member of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls where he served as a church deacon. He was a member of the East Herkimer Snowmobile Club and took great pride and pleasure from performing volunteer work for the church as well as for the Mohawk Valley Christian Academy, Little Falls using his many talents as a carpenter or it what every capacity he was needed.
Mr. Tibbitts was employed as a Millwright for Brown's Feed Co., Frankfort for the past several years. He at onetime owned and operated a diary farm on the Middleville Road, Little Falls and later was employed by the McKenney Farms in the Town of Danube and for many years was a self employed carpenter prior to going to Brown's Feed Co.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, his parents Morton J. and Bettie J. Tibbitts, Little Falls, a son Garth L. Tibbitts, Little Falls, a step son Gregory Dineen, Holloman AFB, New Mexico, a step daughter Shelly Dineen, Dolgeville, a brother Roger C. Tibbitts and his wife Holly, Little Falls, 3 grandchildren Bryce, Andrea and Amanda Dineen, his mother and father in law Arthur and Ethel Lamphere, Richfield Springs, his brother in law Barry Lamphere and his wife Linda, Salisbury, his 2 sisters in law Shirley Ferris, Little Falls and Pamela Lamphere, Richfield Springs and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2003 at 10:00 am from the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Donald L. Dixon, Pastor officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Thursday, July 31, 2003 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Friday morning.
