Obituary of Virginia R. Sivc
LITTLE FALLS - Virginia R. Sivc, 94 a long time resident of Little Falls passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer where she had been a resident since December 21.
She was born on February 1, 1918 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Walter and Sophie (Wilcinski) Rumin. She attended Little Falls High School and continued her education graduating from the Utica School of Commerce.
Mrs. Sivc was a veteran of World War II. Having enlisted on April 18, 1943 she served with the Womens Army Corps. (WAC) in England and France, where she worked in administrative positions. She was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal on October 20, 1945.
Mrs. Sivc was employed for 25 years as a switch board operator and clerk typist for the former HP Snyder Mfg. Co., Little Falls and as a clerk typist for the NYS Dept. of Mental Health, Marcy, NY
She was a life long member of the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, Little Falls and was a member of the church choir for many years.
She enjoyed flower gardening and loved all animals especially her cats.
She was married to the late Victor Sivc and is survived by her daughter Bonnie Riddell and her husband Mark, Albany. She was predeceased by her brother Walter Rumin in 1979.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10:00 am from the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, 618 E. Gansevoort St., Little Falls with the Rev. Rafel Dadello officiating. Interment will take place in the Holy Sprit Polish National Catholic Cemetery, Town of Herkimer in the spring where Military Honors will be accorded.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
