Obituary of Frank P Kelly
LITTLE FALLS – Frank P. Kelly, 92 of Lovers Leap Road, Little Falls passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Little Falls Hospital.
He was born on July 6, 1921 in Hartwick, NY the son of the late Bryant and Hazel (White) Kelly. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Little Falls class of 1939
Mr. Kelly was a veteran of World War II, having served with the US Navy. Entering the service on December 24, 1941. He was honorably discharged as an Aviation Machinist Mate First Class on December 22, 1945. Following his discharge he attended the Lincoln School of Aeronautics in Lincoln, Nebraska.
He was united in marriage to his wife of 47 years the former Patricia Heafey on July 3, 1946 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mrs. Kelly predeceased him on July 10, 1993.
A member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls, he was also life member of the American Legion Post # 579, Cooperstown, as well as a life member of the S/Sgt. Steve Stefula Post # 4612, VFW, Little Falls.
Mr. Kelly retired as a Lead Mechanic for US Airways at Logan International Airport, Boston, MA after over 30 years of service.
He is survived by his children; Francis P. (Butch) Kelly and his wife Mary, East Herkimer, Bryant G. Kelly and his wife Kathleen, Little Falls, Colleen Edwards and her husband Doug, Troy, NY and Michael J. Kelly and his wife Beverly, Little Falls, his sister; Florence Bacher, Ilion, his brother in law; George C. Heafey and his wife Mary Jane, Mohawk, grandchildren; Patrick Kelly and his wife Joanne, Michele Sabol and her husband Steve, Nicole Katz and her husband Steve, Danielle LaPorte, Hillary Kelly Stevens, Jessie Potter and her husband William, Jareth Kelly and his wife Jessica and Michael G. Kelly, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and his dear companion; Helen Maksymicz, Little Falls. He was predeceased by his brothers; William and Bryant Kelly and his sisters; Vera Kraszewski, Mary Bokowski, Rose Jones and Rhea Cannerelli.
Funerals services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY.
