Obituary of Henry Chris Buhrmaster

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Henry Chris Buhrmaster, 73 of the Baum Road, St. Johnsville, NY passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Palatine Nursing Home, Palatine Bridge, NY where he has been a resident since March of this year. He was born on January 24, 1941 in Fort Plain, NY the son of the late Henry and Martha (Barney) Buhrmaster. He attended Fort Plain Schools and was a graduate of the Wilbraham Academy, Wilbraham, Mass. Class of 1959. Mr. Buhrmaster began working at the family business Buhrmaster Pharmacy in Fort Plain and eventually studied pre-med at Columbia University for two years then transferred to the Albany College of Pharmacy and graduated from there in 1966, returning to the family pharmacy where he remained until selling the business in 1980. He was united in marriage to his wife of 24 years the former Carol (Darling) Looman on June 30, 1990 in Fort Plain. Mr. Buhrmaster is survived by his wife; Carol, his sons; Scott C. Buhrmaster and his wife Laura, Chicago and Todd L. Buhrmaster, Florida, his daughter; Bethany Silfer and her husband Keene, Dryden, NY, his step son; Aaron D. Looman, St. Johnsville and his step daughters; Becky L. Case and her husband Scott, Oppenheim, Deborah L. Ferris and her husband Robert, Watertown, NY and Karen L. Eldridge and her husband Mark, Washington, NH, his brother; Norman Buhrmaster, Miami, FL, thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Constance Buhrmaster in 1988. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 7:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Nancy Ryan of the Fort Plain Reformed Church officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 4-7 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
