Obituary of Carson W Hotaling
LITTLE FALLS – Carson W. Hotaling, 78 of E. Monroe St., Little Falls passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown, NY.
He was born November 11, 1936 in Seward, NY the son of the late Loren and Ruth Hotaling and received his education in Schoharie County Area Schools.
He was united in marriage to his wife of 29 years the former Joann R. Miller on July 16, 1983 at Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls. Mrs. Hotaling predeceased him on February 16, 2013.
Mr. Hotaling was a veteran of the US Air Force. Entering the service on March 19, 1956. He served with the 3093 Aviation Depot Squadron at Loring AFB, Caribou, Maine as a Nuclear Weapons Mechanic Specialist. He was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class on March 18, 1960.
For 20 years Mr. Hotaling was employed in the Advertising Dept. of the Little Falls Evening Times. He was later employed at North Hudson Woodcraft, Dolgeville and the Transportation Dept. of the Herkimer ARC and the Herkimer Co., Office of the Aging.
He is survived by his sons; Peter Hotaling and Phillip both of Colorado and David Hotaling, Mississippi, his step daughter; Deborah Youker and her fiancé Stephen Shibley, Dolgeville and step son; Edward Cooley and his wife Barbara, Little Falls, his brother; Daniel Hotaling and his wife Madeline, Middleburg, NY and his sister; Hollis Relyea and her husband James, Schenectady, NY, his brother in law; Richard Decker, Little Falls, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 12:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Donald L. Dixon, Pastor Emeritus of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills later in the spring.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 11 am - 12 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
