Obituary of Marie G Haughton
INGHAMS MILLS - Marie G. Haughton, 76 was born on December 10, 1938 in Little Falls. On Thursday, April 2, 2015, she departed this life to fly freely and joyfully with the angels in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. `
A graduate of the Dolgeville Central School Class of 1956, Marie wed her high school sweetheart and prom king to her prom queen, Donald Haughton, on September 7, 1957. Marie was the perfect helpmate to her husband throughout the many decades that they worked the family farm in Inghams Mills together. Marie loved working in the fields, raking hay and driving the trusty Allis-Chalmers tractor. She was also a fantastic cook, famous for her delicious homemade pies, the annual family Thanksgiving feast, and most of all her hearty late morning farm breakfasts, to which so many guests were invited over the years. Marie will also be remembered for her sense of humor, her selflessness, and her enjoyment of reading, solving crosswords, watching old moves and evening game shows, and drinking a good cup of fresh-brewed coffee. Active in the care of her grandchildren as they were growing up, they will all cherish fond memories of the times spent with her.
Marie was an extraordinary caregiver and family was the center of her life. In addition to her husband, Donald, She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Christine and William Reynolds of Dolgeville; and her sons and their wives, John and Cindy Haughton and David and Margaret Haughton, all of Little Falls. Her grandchildren Joshua (Marissa) Reynolds, Jocelyn (Mark) Rauch, Kirsten (Jason) Bezio, Justin (Emily) Reynolds, Jonathan (Nicole) Haughton, David (Jason) Isley, Kimber (Jake) Scarano, and Daniel Haughton; her great grandchildren Ella Grace and Harper Reynolds; William, Margaret, Molly, and Anna Rauch; Benjamin, Samuel, and Charlotte Bezio; and Kennedy and Addisyn Haughton; and by her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. David and Birgit Eaker, Upsala, Sweden; her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and William Young, Manlius; her brother-in-law Raymond Smith; her brother-in-law and his wife, Charles and Esther Haughton; and many special nieces and nephews.
