Obituary of Alma B Rostiser
LITTLE FALLS - Alma B. Rostiser, 94 of 50 Arthur Street, Little Falls and since 2013 a resident of the Alpine Nursing & Rehab Center, Little Falls passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at that facility.
She was born on April 14, 1921 in Inglis, Manitoba, Canada the daughter of the late William and Matilda (Haberstock) Beischer. Relocating to Little Falls in 1924 she was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1938 and the Excelsior Business School, Utica.
She was united in marriage to her husband of 62 years John R. (Jack) Rostiser on May 12, 1945 at St. Mary’s Church Parish House, Little Falls. Mr. Rostiser predeceased her on June 26, 2007.
Mrs. Rostiser was a very active member of the former Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls where she participated in many of the church events and taught Sunday school for many years.
She was employed for many years as a buyer for Salada Foods Co., Little Falls retiring in 1973.
Surviving are her cousins; Alma Peter, East Aurora, NY, John Haberstock, Gettysburg, PA, William Laubenstein, Rochester and Isabel Ponce, Albany, several nieces and nephews and her dear friends Jean Fogarty and Charmaine Dodge, Little Falls.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with Rev. Joseph Famulare, Pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls in the spring.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 10-11 am and to attend the funeral services to follow.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Rostiser be considered to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 E. Gansevoort St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
The family would like to extend their since appreciation to the staff of the Alpine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their kindness, care and compassion shown to Mrs. Rostiser.
