Obituary of Frank Petkovsek, IV
NORWAY – Frank Petkovsek, IV, 53 of Black Creek Road, Newport, NY (Town of Norway) passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 18, 2016 at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse.
He was born on June 21, 1963 in Little Falls, NY the son of Jean (Weakley) Petkovsek, Little Falls and the late Frank Petkovsek, III. He grew up working of the family dairy farm in the Town of Manheim and was educated in Dolgeville schools.
On January 4, 1986 he was united in marriage to his wife of 30 years the former Tina M. Decker at the Dolgeville United Methodist Church.
Frank was an active member of the Salisbury Vol. Fire Dept., as well as a member of the Brookfield Garden Tractor Pullers, the Poor Redneck Garden Tractor Pullers, the Upstate ATV Association, a former member of the Salisbury Ridge Runners Club and Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club. He truly enjoyed his time competing in tractor pulling events and traveling with his camping trailer to many area campsites.
He was currently employed as a Dump Truck operator for the Leitz Trucking Co., Frankfort, NY and as a substitute School Bus Driver for the Dolgeville Central School.
He is survived by his wife, Tina, his mother, Jean Petkovsek, Little Falls, his brother, John B. Petkovsek and his wife Patty, Little Falls, his sisters, Beverly Sohnn, Welcome, MD and Terri Sterusky, Redfield, NY, his father and mother in law, Kenneth and Sharon Decker, Sr., Dolgeville, brothers in law, Kenneth Decker, Jr. and Cory Decker and his wife Fallon, both of Dolgeville, his sister in law, Julia Yerina and her husband William, Little Falls, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews including a special uncle and his family Russell Weakley of Gray and special nieces Nicole Decker and Kali Yerina. He also leaves his beloved dogs, Buddy and Missy. He was predeceased by his father Frank Petkovsek, III on November 19, 2000.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 5:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Patricia Bunnelle of Middleville officiating. Interment will take place in Dolgeville Cemetery in the spring of 2017.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 3-5 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
