Obituary of Robert P. Hudson, Sr.
FORT PLAIN – Robert P. Hudson, Sr., 81 of Fords Bush Road, Ft. Plain, NY passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at his residence with his beloved family at his side.
He was born on July 29, 1935 in Little Falls the son of the late Paul W. and Florentine (Dineen) Hudson. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School.
On April 29, 1957 he was united in marriage to his wife of 61 years the former Joan F. Mitchell in Herkimer.
Mr. Hudson honorably served his country as a member of the US Army Reserves retiring as a Sergeant First Class on July 29, 1995 after 38 years of service.
He was a member of the Canajoharie – Ft. Plain Elks Lodge # 2621 BPOE, Ft. Plain, Mohawk Valley Post # 3275 VFW, Ft. Plain, Fort Plain American Legion Post # 554, Canajoharie Moose Lodge # 853, Ephratah, Dolgeville and Cherry Valley Rod & Gun Clubs and at onetime was a member of the former Old Time Power Association. An avid hunter and fisherman he also enjoyed camping with his family and friends.
Mr. Hudson was employed at onetime by the former HP Snyder Mfg., Co, Little Falls. He was last employed for 40 years as a Plumber for the Beech Nut Corp., Canajoharie.
He is survived by his wife Joan, his sons, Bernard W. Hudson and Cindi Bergen, St. Johnsville and Robert P. Hudson, Jr. and his wife Cindy, Little Falls, his daughters, Lorraine S. Dobrovolc and her husband John, Little Falls and Deborah L. Lojba and her husband Jas, Herkimer, his brother Ronald W. Hudson and Kay Offenborn, Ft. Plain, seven grandchildren Kayla Brown and Kyle Hayes, Stacey Hudson and fiancé Patrick Bettoney, Vincent Dobrovolc and (Sarah), Katie Hudson, Eric Lojba and Kelly Roach, Allison Dobrovolc and Lauren Lojba and fiancé John Misencik, three great grandchildren, Brady Brown and Avery and Brody Dobrovolc.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. Interment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Town of Minden.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services on Wednesday morning.
