Obituary of Evelyn M Pugliese
LITTLE FALLS - Evelyn M. Pugliese, 94 formerly of 760 E. Monroe St. Apt. K-2, Little Falls passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, Ilion with around clock comfort and support from her loving family. She had been a resident there since November of 2016.
She was born on August 6, 1922 in Hewittville, NY the daughter of the late Eli and Ida (Mussaw) Hooper. She was educated in Potsdam schools.
She was united in marriage to her husband of 75 years Joseph F. Pugliese on August 20, 1939. Mr. Pugliese predeceased her on September 2, 2014.
Mrs. Pugliese was employed as a Machine Operator for the former Merryl Dress Co., Little Falls.
She is survived by her sons, Michael J. Pugliese and his wife Barbara and Joseph M. Pugliese and his wife Deborah, both of Little Falls, her daughters, Marie Pennucci and Joanne Tucci both of Little Falls, her brother, Lloyd Hooper of Mohawk, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Emeretta Snyder and by her brothers, William, Francis and Raymond Hooper, her son in laws Ernest Pennucci and Gary Tucci and her grandsons, Chris Pennucci and Michael J. Pugliese, Jr. and great grandchildren, Russell Pugliese, Jr. and Gracie Pugliese.
Above all she had a tremendous love for her family which spanned five generations including many great, great grand children. She was generous and loving. She was deeply religious and loved her Savior Jesus Christ. She blessed all she met in her walk through life. She was a wonderful cook especially known for her cabbage rolls and spaghetti sauces. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. Main & John St.’s, Little Falls, NY where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Terence Healy. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours.
