Obituary of Helen P. Stransky
LITTLE FALLS - Helen P. Stransky, 94 formerly of 15 Glen Ave., Little Falls passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Alpine Nursing & Rehab. Center, Little Falls where she had been a resident since May of 2015.
She was born on October 29, 1922 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Peter and Bertha (Duda) Podyma. She was educated in Little Falls schools.
On May 29, 1943 she was united in marriage to her husband of 43 years Paul Stransky at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls. Mr. Stransky predeceased her on November 1, 1986.
Mrs. Stransky was a member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Little Falls.
She was an over 25 year member and past President of the Little Falls Lady Elk’s. An active member for over 50 years in the Democratic Party she was a member of the NYS Democratic Committee having served several terms as a State Committee Person . She was also a member of the City of Little Falls Democratic Committee and served several terms as an Alderperson for the City of Little Falls Common Council.
Mrs. Stransky along with her husband Paul owned and operated the former Walnut Grill in Little Falls from 1956 until 1971. She was later employed for 15 years as an Inspector for the Salada Foods Corp, Little Falls and for many years as a clerk for Ann Street Liquors, Little Falls.
She is survived by her daughter Paula Debnar and her husband Theodore, Okemos, MI, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Chester and Peter Podyma.
Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls.
