Obituary of Elizabeth (Betty) G. Rich
LITTLE FALLS – Elizabeth (Betty) G. Rich, 95 formerly of 550 E. John St. Apt.# 5-B, Little Falls, NY passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, Ilion, NY where she has been a resident since March of 2014.
She was born on November 13, 1921 in Little Falls the daughter of the late John and Mary (Carrig) Gardinier. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Little Falls Class of 1940.
She was married at onetime to Morris R. Rich of Little Falls on June 29, 1946.
Mrs. Rich was a communicant of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls. As well as a member of the Little Falls AARP Chapter# 4367, the Rock City, Oppenheim and St. Johnsville Senior Citizens.
She was first employed as an Operator for the NY Telephone Co., at the Little Falls office for 11 years. She was later employed by the former Little Falls Color Print Co., and for 24 years she was employed as the Receptionist – Switchboard Operator for Little Falls Hospital until her retirement in 1992. Following her retirement she was employed part time as a Hostess for the Indian Castle Plaza on the NYS Thruway.
She is survived by her son Ronald D. Rich and his companion Debra Arruda, Little Falls and by her sister Alice Hysack, Little Falls and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Richard W. Gardinier in 1999, John Gardinier, in 2013 and Robert (Burrell) Gardinier in 2013 and her sister Margaret Korce in 1996.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. Main & John St.’s, Little Falls, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Terence Healy. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, NY.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours.
