Obituary of Jeananne B Kolar

LITTLE FALLS – Jeananne B. Kolar, 91 of Burwell Street, Little Falls, NY passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 in the comfort of her own home. She was born December 3, 1925 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Alice (Fitzgerald) Barton. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Little Falls Class of 1944 and was a lifelong resident of Little Falls. On August 9, 1947 she was united in to William J. Kolar at St. Mary’s Church Parish House, Little Falls. Jeananne and Billy shared a blessed union of 40 years until his passing on October 31, 1987. Jeananne was a very vibrant woman who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to travel to special places like Ireland and venture out on short bus trips. She was a communicant of the Holy Family Parish Church and loved to participate in Daily Mass and to recite the Rosary. She was a member of the Rosary Society, Rock City, Oppenheim and St. Johnsville Senior Citizens, the Little Falls AARP Chapter# 4367 as well as the Telephone Pioneers of America. Jeananne was employed for 38 years as a switchboard operator for the NY Telephone Co., in Little Falls, Herkimer and retired from that same position in November of 1985 from the Utica office. She is survived her dear friends, Mary Ann & Terry Barrett, Little Falls and Frank J. and Kirsten Lawrence, Delmar, NY and their families, Dr.’s Matthew Barrett and Renee Dixon, Luke Barrett, Adam and Katrina Lawrence and Katrina and Davis Chamberlain. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert T. Barton on December 29, 2000. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 9:30 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY and at 10:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. Main & John St.’s, Little Falls where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Terence Healy. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 8:30 – 9:30 am and to attend the funeral services to follow. Contributions in memory of Jeananne may be considered to the Holy Family Parish Church, 763 E. Main St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
