Obituary of Robert L Daley, Sr.

LITTLE FALLS – Robert L. Daley, Sr., 82 State Route 169, Little Falls (Town of Fairfield), NY passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at Little Falls Hospital with his loving family at his side. He was born on April 26, 1935 in the Town of Danube, NY the son of the late LeRoy and Katherine (Herringshaw) Daley. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School. On July 9, 1960 he was united in marriage to his wife of 52 years the former Carolyn Shwiler at St. Mary’s Church, Little Falls. Mrs. Daley predeceased him on August 12, 2012. Mr. Daley was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War. He entered the service on August 17, 1954 in Utica and served at the Naval Air Test Facility in Lakehurst, NJ. He was honorably discharged on August 20, 1959. He was a Life member of the Owls Club, Town of Danube, a past member of the 4-H Club, and the former Little Falls MOOSE Lodge Tug of War Team. A accomplished handyman and “jack of all trades” he enjoyed taking on many tasks and seeing them through.. He recently was notified that he had received “Patent Pending” status for his development of the “Daley Hydrogen Generator”. Mr. Daley was employed as a Technical Engineer for the former MDS Corp., Herkimer and served in that same capacity for many years until his retirement from the Burrows Paper Corp., Little Falls. He is survived by his sons, Robert L. Daley, Jr. (Buster) and his wife Anne, Boise, Idaho, George Daley, Little Falls and Michael Daley and his companion Deborah Tuttle, East Chatham, NY, his daughter, Robin Bacher, Little Falls, his grandchildren Senior Chief Michael Bacher and his wife Shauna, Stephanie Woodcock, Mary Daley, Leslie Daley, Kianna Daley and Damian LeFave, his great grandchildren, Seth Bacher, Olivia Bacher, Alexia Judson, Suzanna Rodriguez, Skyvinn Woodcock and Rosie Daley, his brothers, Gerald Daley, Homosassa, FL, and LeRoy Daley and his wife Jacqueline, Mohawk, his sister, Evelyn Noonan and her husband Eugene, Little Falls, his sister in law and brother in law, Mary and Richard Mosher, Little Falls and his sister in law Mary Daley, Mohawk, several nieces and nephews and Michael Bacher, Sr., who was very special to him. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Daley. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Deacon Joseph DeLorenzo, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in the Ostrander Cemetery, Town of Danube where Military Honors will be accorded. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 4-7 pm and to attend the funeral services on Thursday morning.
