Obituary of Alice "Jean" Madigan
SCHUYLER LAKE – Alice E. “Jean” Madigan, 76 formerly of Freeville, NY passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Aprile Lincourt of Schuyler Lake, NY on Sunday, December 10, 2017.
She was born in Ithaca, NY the daughter of the late Loren and Marjorie (Peters) Heath. She was a graduate of Dryden High School.
On May 6, 1961 she was united in marriage to her husband of 41 years Roger “Jack” Madigan in Freeville, NY. Mr. Madigan predeceased her on July 14, 2002.
Mrs. Madigan was an active member of the Freeville United Methodist Church and at one time she and her husband resided in Salisbury Center, NY and were active in the Salisbury Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club.
She was employed for several years as an Inspector for the Evaporated Metal Films Co., Ithaca, NY.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Madigan (Patty), St. Albans, VT, Steven Madigan (Deanna), Dryden, NY and Patrick Lynch (Marty), Dryden, NY, her daughter Aprile Lincourt (Edward Bronson), Schuyler Lake, NY, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kathy Madigan on January 1, 1966, by her brothers, Paul and Allen Heath, her sisters, Betty Drake, Ellen Heath, Shirley Hopkins and June Maloney.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with Pastor Sharon Rankins-Burd of the Schuyler Lake Methodist Church officiating. Interment will take place in Curtiss Cemetery, Town of Salisbury in the spring.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 11:00 am -2:00 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Madigan be considered to the Catskill Area Hospice, 297 River Street Service Road, Oneonta, NY 13820. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Staff of Catskill Area Hospice and the Louis Hager Busch Cancer Treatment Center of Bassett Healthcare for their kindness, care and compassion shown to Mrs. Madigan and her family.
