Obituary of Gail H. Barron

PISECO – Gail Linda Hoover Barron, 85 most recently of Piseco, NY and Calabash, NC and formerly of Clinton, NY passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 after a long illness. Gail was born on January 31, 1934 in Little Falls, NY the daughter of late Ruth (Vincent) Madsen and Duane Hoover. She graduated from Little Falls High School class of 1952. Gail graduated from Columbia Presbyterian School of Nursing in 1955 and continued on to her masters in Health Education at Syracuse University. Gail worked as a public health nurse and as a school nurse-teacher in the Vernon-Verona School District. She also worked for years at the Martin Luther Home, Clinton, NY. Gail enjoyed gardening, reading, being an Adirondack woman, her Irish Setters, college sports, feeding her humming birds, quilting and talking sports with her grandsons. She made a quilt for each of her grandsons for their first year of college and one for her first great-grandchild. She always had a dessert waiting for them when they visited. In her younger years she enjoyed, camping at Piseco Lake with Alan and Marc, travel to Europe, hiking with her grandsons, golfing and playing bridge. She was a volunteer for the Piseco Lake Fire Company, Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her two sons, Alan (Lori) Barron, Northville, NY and Marc (Barbara) Barron, Delmar, NY. She is also survived by her grandsons, Matthew, Adam (Sarah), Sean (Alesia) and Christopher, also two great-grandchildren, Cedric and Genevieve. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother A. William Hoover on June 14, 2003 and by her step-father Norman Madsen Funerals services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Town of Little Falls. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours. The family would like to thank the staff at Pineview Assisted Living Facility and Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home for their kindness, care and compassion shown to Gail and her family.
