The quintessential Gentle Giant! A smile as big as the moon with the disposition to match it.
To share a memory... I couldn't possibly choose just one. He was like father to me growing up. I have many precious memories of John; all of which evoke feelings of love, laughter and belonging. These were some of my favorite childhood memories... the laughter that filled that big house was infectious!
I will cherish all the ways his bigger than life personality helped to form who I am today. May your memories help you through this unbelievable loss.

Whenever anyone would come into John's presence, they would be greeted with warmth and welcome. He was a gentle giant with a heart as big as the whole outdoors. He was a hard-working and fun-loving person. Whatever he did, he did with his family in mind. He worked hard for his family and was happiest when he was with them. Other than work, I don't think I ever saw him without his loving wife and at least one of his kids or grandkids. He will be sorely missed by all. Tina and family, I know it will be hard to go on without him, but love as great as his was for all of you could never leave you. You can count on us to help you through, supporting you with a listening ear or just being with you, and always, always with our prayers. Theresa

So sorry. John was so quiet in school. He was a year ahead of me. In later years I saw him a few times. Always a smile on his face.
