Obituary of Stanley J. Normoyle, Sr.

Mr. Stanley J. Normoyle, Sr., 88, of Burrell Road, Little Falls, New York died Monday, October 26, 2020 at home. Born on March 5, 1932 in Hampton Bays, NY, he was the son of Lewis Normoyle and Emma Thompson Normoyle. He attended Hampton Bays Schools. He had resided in Little Falls for the past 6 years, previously residing in Flanders, Long Island. Mr. Normoyle was a salesman for Blackman Plumbing Supply in South Hampton, NY. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp, serving in Korea. He received the Purple Heart before being honorably discharged. He was of Catholic faith. Stanley was a Volunteer Fireman for Flanders Volunteer Fire Department, where he also served as past Chief from 1965-1966, and was volunteer fireman of the year in 1965. He enjoyed bartending once he retired and watching his son race. The thing he enjoyed most though was spending his days with his great-granddaughter, Emberly. His siblings predeceased him along with his wife, Antoinette in 2014. Mr. Normoyle is survived by his son, James Normoyle and Roxanne; daughter, Diane Sawchuk; son, Stanley J. Normoyle, Jr.; grandchildren in the local area, James Normoyle, Jr., Kyle Joslin, Courtney Walters, Erica Manglaviti; local great-grandchildren, Tanner Normoyle and Emberly Walters; many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren living outside the area; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island, NY.
