Obituary of Lois E. Polnak

I ended my long journey of life on April 10th as the sun broke through the rain to bring me home. Born October 17th, 1944, in Pittsfield, MA as the first child of nine and only girl to Rexford & Nellie (Castle) Tabor. I married my high school sweetheart, William Polnak, almost 60 years ago on May 12th, in Little Falls, where we made our life together. I was blessed with three children, two boys and one girl, and they each made my life more complete… Until the granddaughters came! I’ll tell you all about them later… First born was my son Todd, with his quiet demeanor, followed by Michele with her bashful smile, always watching me as I tended our home. Last was Chad, the sweet little boy who would attempt anything! I found my life’s calling, of 38 years, for VanAllen’s nursing home as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I cared for many people in those years. I saw the good and the bad, the happy and the sad. Every resident I cared for was a person with dignity and respect. I wished that others would remember that as their time drew near in their last years. I lived my life with holes in my heart from the loss of my parents, my dearest son Todd, my brothers Donald, Tommy & Greg all taken far too young. I love my children, but my greatest joy was the time spent with my five granddaughters. Laura was my first and the sun rose and set on her, until Samantha arrived. Oh the joy of two girls! Then came Katie, Elizabeth, & Winter. Poor Bill endured countless bows and barrettes in his hair, dolls, and cardboard houses all along with the giggles and laughs. My heart was full beyond measure. I lived my life for my loved ones and enjoyed every moment when we were together as a family. I am survived by my darling husband Bill, My Daughter Michele & her husband Michael Simonelli and their three daughters Laura, Katie, & Elizabeth, My Son Chad & his wife Jennifer Polnak and their two daughters Samantha and her husband Michael Frohm, and Winter Polnak. I also leave behind my brothers, their wives, my brother-in-law’s and their wives and the many loved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, TN 38105-1905. The family would like to invite anyone who would like to join them for a gathering at Ruggerio's Trattoria, 546 E. Main Street, Little Falls, NY 13365 from 2:00-4:00PM, on Friday April 15th, 2022. Interment services will take place on Friday April 15th, 2022 at Rural Park, Ingham Mills Cemetery, and all are welcome to attend those services also.
