Obituary of MaryAnn VanGorder

Mrs. MaryAnn VanGorder, 82, of Bronner Road, died on January 26, 2023, at the Alpine Rehab and Nursing Center following a brief illness. She was born in the Bronx, NY on May 1, 1940, the daughter of the late August Chuck and Clara Shamro Chuck.

Mrs. VanGorder was a graduate of Little Falls High School, class of 1958.

She retired from Lexington, where she had worked at the Stratford House for over 15 years. Prior to that and after that she had worked at the NYS Thruway restaurant.

She was a communicant of Our Holy Family Catholic Church, Little Falls.

She always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren that brought her so much happiness and joy.

On November 29, 1958, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls, NY she married Luke C. VanGorder, Jr. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage.

She was predeceased by her mother and father in-laws Luke and Ruth Van Gorder;  brother-in-law Walter Wastowicz and niece Dawn (Klock) Douglas 

Survivors include, her husband Luke C. VanGorder, Jr.; daughters Sherrie and her husband Mike Lyon, Diane and her husband Jamie Hicks; sons Luke VanGorder III and Allen VanGorder; Sisters Barbara and her husband Paul Klock and Edith Wastowicz; Grandchildren Bethany and her husband Jess Kliest, Shane and his wife Tara Lyon, Evan Lyon and his companion Chelsea Bouck, Scott and his wife Courtney Nagele, Thomas Hicks, Tiffany and Trevor Waterman and Tasha Hicks; great grandchildren, Adrian, Bentley, Trenton, Jaxon, Leon, Sophia and Wesley.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday February 1, 2023, at 11:00AM at Our Holy Family Catholic Church, E. Main Street, Little Falls, NY 13365. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapman Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365.

Burial will take place at Ingham Mills Cemetery in the spring.
