In our youth, I remember Valdean for her grace and kindness, and her life was clearly very full. To the writer(s) of her obituary, you have done a wonderful job capturing the soul of the person: thank you for that. I had to write my wife's 2 Christmases ago, and, in all my years of scrivening, little has been harder. Peace to you all! Bill Weeks/ LFHS class of 1960/Mountain Home AR

Valdean was my neighbor & friend on Southern Ave. We shared the love of animals & especially cats. On occasion I cat-sat & borrowed a few for comfort. She welcomed all varieties & sizes. Once she bent down to pet a "cat" at night only to find a skunk was enjoying the fine fare she offered on her back stoop. She was a wonderful lady & I have precious memories. My sincere sympathy to all. Love, CherylAnn Lower

Val and I enjoyed life to the fullest. AT LFHS, where I got to know her, we would kid each other about her being one day older than me. As it so often happens in life, after high school we drifted apart and were never to contact each other again. Surely a loss in both of our lives. She will always be remembered as small, bubbly and adorable. Farewell my old classmate friend.

What a great lady who put up with all the trouble we caused and always always made the Cagwin house a second home for a lot of us. A house filled with wisecrakcs and laughs. Putting up with stuff like 3 guys smoking huge cigars and leavingvthe house so thick with smoke you could barely see. My deepest sympathies to Greg Tim and Eric. I will always ys remember your mom, she was a huge part of all of us growing up and we were blessed that she created an atmosphere of love and acceptance at your house. I take solace and truly believe she will ne reunited with her family in Heaven and i am hapoy for that.

I had the joy of being Val's neighbor. She was an absolute delight and joy. She was so kind, always offering help and advice as we were so young just starting out. She adored my daughter Maddy. She took her daily to greet the many cats that she took care of by name everyday. She is the reason that my daughter still loves cats ♡. She had a heart of gold and I will always look back on those days fondly. Reast Easy Val.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to her family. She was such a pretty lady, and always so nice. Yes, I remember her and Joyce coming to my garage sales! Of course she will be missed by many, but at last Val, you are free, at peace and back with your loved ones. I've never seen such a beautiful obituary, well written!! I have been 39 for many years. Condolences to all. God bless you for taking such care of her. Special condolences to you Eric.

Having grown up with the Cagwin family out in the Newville area , this is a sad day , but also a day to remember a great woman. She always had a smile and a big hug everytime I seen her, even if it had been years . I'll remember her forever . RIP Val and enjoy your garage sales and Pink Flamingos , you deserve it!

To the Cagwin/Vickery Families, so sorry to hear about your loss. I'm writing as a representative for our family (the Grabinski's). My parents were friends of Allan and Val, growing up I remember them always having a lot of fun. I know they will continue that fun now that they are all together (Mary and Gary and Allan and Val).
With great sadness Mary "Punker" Grabinski
