I will always remember Uncle Donnie fondly, with a smile, a grateful heart, and a tear at his loss.
Perhaps my fondest memories come from a time when he came to visit us by himself when we lived in New Hampshire, and I got to spend a lot of one on one time with him while Ted was at work. We drove up to Castle in the Clouds together, stopping en route for lunch. We went out to breakfast together by the ocean and drove along the coast, enjoying the magnificence of the ocean. He always came down in the morning with a cheerful greeting, a smile, and a twinkle in his eyes, despite pain from his bad knees! He was a man’s man, a gentleman, and a gentle giant. He will be sorely missed and very fondly remembered.
